- Abstract
Hydrologic response units (HRU) are specific areas within the watershed that are identified from possible combinations of soil types, land use, and slopes. They are important because they make it possible to identify critical areas susceptible to contamination processes due to excess nutrients from crops in soils adjacent to the watercourse.
