Abstract

According to the IDEAM land cover classification (2012), the UCRB has 40 different land covers or uses. Within them, 12 represent 90% of the total. The first is the mosaic of crops, pastures and natural spaces, which has 410,000 ha, and represents 21% of the basin area. It is located mainly in the flat area and in the foothills of the department of Cauca. The second most representative use is clean pastures, which represent livestock activity.
